From central Kuwait City, the drive to the Al Nuwaiseeb border post takes roughly 1 – 1.5 hours depending on your starting point.
At the Kuwaiti exit checkpoint, GCC nationals present their national ID, while other nationalities complete standard passport and exit formalities. Vehicle documentation is checked before crossing.
On the Saudi side, entry is via GCC national ID for GCC nationals or a valid Saudi visa/Iqama for other nationalities and returning residents. The crossing is open 24 hours and typically adds 30–90 minutes to the total journey, though Thursday/Friday evenings and holidays can see longer queues.
